A huge human trafficking center is at the works. Their mascot, Alexys Barnes, has been theirs for 10 years... and is also a subject of interest to Sam, who wants to try rescuing her. Secretly she doesn't like playing competitive sports but is pressured into it by her athlete friends. All she wants to do is just do well in high school and move on from that chapter in her life. Like I said, these girls have almost nothing in common, except for one thing. Lia. They were all Lia's best friends before she got kidnapped. After Lia was rescued over the summer she got put into therapy by her worried mom. During therapy Lia talks about her best friends and how thinking of them helped her cope with surviving her kidnapping.
