Anyone who says, 'I'm just an ordinary person leading an ordinary life,' is a big, old, liar, liar, pants on fire!

Sorry, that was somewhat overly aggressive. Let me put it to you another way...

Have you ever had something happen in your life, be it a single event or an epoch (never thought I'd use the word 'epoch' in a sentence), where you thought to yourself, 'that could have been a movie!'?

Well, that's what Stories from the Ordinaries is all about...

It's amazing just how much of your life is shaped by other people; the people who are around you (or who are not around you, as the case may be). Maybe not everyone has found love, but everyone has been in love, and that in itself is a story worthy of Hollywood. And then there are all the other stars of your unique masterpiece. You have the heroes, and you have the villains (sometimes the two are indistinguishable); the bit part characters and the main protagonists; those who knock you down and those who pick you back up; those who you couldn't do without and those you could do without; those who make you laugh and... you get the picture. Imagine how different your life would be if you had a different set of people around you.

It's hard to, isn't it?

So without further ado, this is my tribute to the ordinary... I hope you enjoy.

There was a strange sensation which was restraining me from pushing him away. He plunged his moist tongue inside my mouth exploring every inch of it. My heart was racing and my breaths were hot. ~Her words were my poison. I used them to consume myself. Disturbingly honest. Painfully strained. Carefully penned down. Dangerously addictive.~ A journal that landed in the right hands and told a whole story with words, no lips could speak. Two people bound by the pages of a book that tore their souls apart. He found it lying around and wondered what could go wrong. He didn't recognise the handwriting but he knew he instantly fell in love with it. Then it began. The assault of words on his life. He couldn't believe a word she wrote but somehow he did. He knew more about her than anyone else but he knew so little about who she was... It was maddening. How someone could have such an impact on you without having a single conversation with you. Her precious words tortured his existence, they drowned him in misery, created a black hole of words around him, gave him everything he needed to live. Made him fall in love. Gave him a world of his own. Made him believe in rainbows, unicorns, coffee, the basis of happiness, the meaning of every sunrise, the mystery of every deep ocean, she made him human. He knew he had to find her. He had to find out who she was. He had given him all the clues he needed but none of them were enough to prepare him for who she was. But sometimes... The journey is more important than the destination. Sometimes, the journey is the destination. A book full of stolen pages and a boy full of curiosity. This was how he let her shape his story. __________________ Description inside. Italics = Journal entry. 500 word chapters. Okay, so I don't know if you want to read it yet but it would mean the world to me if you could give it a shot.

"Hey, my name is Johnnie. Johnnie Guilbert. I'm in a rough time of my life. It seems that everything I do has no meaning in this world. People don't care about me, they don't like me or maybe they don't even know I exist. I'm seventeen, almost starting my senior year of High School. I don't think that it will be like how you see it in movies: loads of fun, great people, best year of your school life, lot of party, etc, etc. It just doesn't work that way. Sometimes I sit and wonder if teenage years are really "the best years of your life", like the grown ups say to us when we are little kids. Why don't they just tell us the truth? Because, after all, they teach us not to lie too. I hope that this year doesn't become a hurrican."
