kim jiyong is a struggling college student just trying to pay the bills.
he works in a small coffee shop in seoul as one-fifth of the staff, constantly wishes he was taller, and majors in dance and vocal.
on the side, he sells choreographies and songs to entertainment companies because at this point, he is very desperate and strapped for cash.
park kihyun is a struggling idol just trying to get through the comeback.
he's signed under mx entertainment, in a group with the four other boys he practically grew up with called 'spark,' a name he personally despises and doesn't understand.
on the side, he drinks at least a quart of coffee a day from whatever coffee shop is closest because at this point, he has given up on sleeping, all thanks to his insomnia.
one fine day, at exactly two thirty-four in the morning, park kihyun has just finished a vocal lesson and is currently shuffling down the streets like a corpse. kim jiyong is counting down the last twenty-six minutes until his shift ends and he can go home and sleep.
so of course, when the two are both in desperate need of coffee and maybe a nap, they (quite literally) run into each other at the dimly-lit, rustic cafe with a distinct smell of aged book pages and freshly-roasted coffee beans.
While he was running, Joo-Won couldn't hold his tears. He couldn't hold back the sobs that escaped his lips while crying. He couldn't even see clearly because the tears made everything blurry. His hair was flying back as he ran even faster, causing a few people to quickly get to the side and giving him shocked looks.
If he just went back to his room with Seojun, or not leave his side at all... Maybe, maybe he could have prevented it. Maybe the three of them would be talking right now. Maybe they would have talked things through. Maybe, maybe, maybe...
The maybe and endless possibilities were filling Joo-Won's mind, making him go crazy.
He screamed as his legs were burning. He sobbed and screamed again, but this time, because of the burning sensation in his heart. His heart couldn't take it, not again. He knew this feeling very well, and the last time he felt like this, everything ended terribly.
