Natsu Dragneel is the King of Dragons, but he didn't get their in a happy way. His father didn't proudly set the crown upon his head, oh no. His position was born of tragedy. After his mother died during birth, the neighboring kingdom stole away his baby sister. His father, struck with the grief of losing his wife and daughter, slowly fell into insanity. Thus, at the age of fifteen, Natsu was set onto the throne with no one to help guide him through what could only be described as hell which brought him up into a bitter man. Bitter at that particular neighboring kingdom.
Lucy Heartfilia is the princess of the Elven Kingdom, neighbor to the Dragons. She was completely sheltered by her father, leaving her to be a naive girl when she turned eighteen. Because of that, all of her decisions were made for her. What she would eat, what she would wear, and, finally, who she would marry. That is, until the Dragon King raids her kingdom, kidnapping her in the process. Suddenly, she forced to make her own decisions.
