"You don't scare me, Niklaus" We were so close I could feel his breath fan my cheeks.
"Really?" his usual smug grin graces his adonis like face, "your heart rate tells a very different story, mon étoile" My heart races even more at the familiar nickname, the only thing keeping me from falling are his arms that are locked on my waist. Settling there like the missing piece of a puzzle.
If I'm being honest he absolutely terrifies me, I feel myself falling more everyday and with no way to stop. No way to escape this feeling he can create with just a look. His thumbs start to move in sync, rubbing the small of my back. I can barely concentrate with the sparks erupting across my body faster than light itself. Our eyes lock on to each other, now and again flickering to each other lips. We both start to lean in, almost involuntarily, unable to help ourselves.
So close.
A sudden burst of agonising pain shoots through my chest, consuming my entire being in a fiery torment. My knees give out, forcing me to plummet to the oak floor. Black gripping at the edges of my vision.
