What about a boy in the mild, yet crazy town in Ohio? Does he not get a say? 

Ashley Barrett Drery gets attached too easily and hides parts of himself for the sake of a reputation that always seemed set for him. His friends and his mother were always enough.

So, this girl with familiar eyes trips into his life and at first, he's forced to be with her. Then, when he was appease, it all crashes down. You know that thing he didn't believe in? Love? Well, that thing broke his heart.

Big changes and a past alters his whole life and suddenly his friends aren't his friends, the truth he lived was a lie, and trust he built is pulverized.

He had to be independent and protect himself.
