She had recently experienced grief and misfortunes that exacerbated her condition and left her in turmoil. Eventually she explained to me what she had been facing and I decided to write a story to celebrate her decision to live and seek help. { Please seek help if you find that you struggle with serious emotional or mental illness. Some people who suffer from depression often do not seek help because of stigma attached to the problem. Others are too in denial to acknowledge that there's even a problem. However, seeking help is often the first step towards getting and staying well. My friend who suffered from depression also engaged in self harm, but she sought help and has been successful thus far in the recovery process.
