Six months ago Lowry left college after being diagnosed with cancer. Prognosis: not good.
Today, Lowry faces an unforgiving world in which infection has brought human civilization to its knees. Possibly the last non-infected person in the state, he has a decision: fight his way out of the state and seek out whatever's left of society, or find a peaceful place to let his cancer kill him before the infected do. It's a decision complicated by the arrival of Trevor Shannon, a crashed bush pilot with the mind and drive to return to his hometown in Alaska, and an inability to leave Lowry to his own devices.
While Lowry's illness hinders their travels it doesn't stop the spark that kindles between them, and might just be what saves them both in the end.

This story is an outcome of a drastically declining future. When humanity was completely lost and there was no one left on Earth taking care for it or others. Humans have become soo busy in their own lives that they have completely forgotten about others and even other lives on Earth. So many species are now extinct because of them and even though life is almost over we still not able to see the right thing.
