Orion and his siblings were the first of a new breed of dragons. The living symbols of American pride and national power; trapped in bondage to protect their captive mother. But when a feral dragon aiding the Confederacy offers Orion the hope of liberating his family, he must first abandon them and serve her instead.
But she is less certain of her desires and with far more at stake. As the contested messiah of the wild dragons, none more skeptical than herself, that reputation has given her the opportunity to secure her dying culture legitimacy by establishing a nation of their own.
But there are two roads to this glorious future.
The first is the way of honor, where the dragon colonies fight and die alongside men in a grand alliance in the hope that their allies will show their gratitude rather than once again turn arms upon their weakened allies.
The other is a treacherous route of deceit and betrayal, where a drawn out and ruinous war leaves the already divided nation of men in turmoil and ruins, unable to oppose the solidifying of draconic power in the west.

The Forman Expedition ( Dead Ahead × RWBY )
On July 7, 1953, amidst the relentless Forman War, the nations of the Dragon Compact- Orion, Hydrus, Auriga, and Libra- clashed bitterly with the Solstice Alliance, composed of Antares, Ursa, and Antares' puppet states of Skorpii Corvus, Skorpii Grusii, and Skorpii Riaa. In the heat of war, five mysterious Grimm portals erupted across Forma: One east of the Sagittarius Strait, another on the coast of a city in Southern Ursa, the third between the cold waters of Ursa and Hydra, one within the heart of the Orion Republic, and one in a libran town. When the armies of Forma finally vanquished the Grimm, they soon discovered that the portals remained open - a chilling reminder of a threat far greater than any they have faced in their history. Faced with the possibility of more of Grimm coming from the portals, the Forman nations set aside their deep-rooted rivalries and forge a tense and uneasy alliance. Although tensions still simmer beneath and sometimes above the surface, they now share a singular goal: to venture into the unknown realms beyond the portals, to defend themselves of any potential attacks, and to control and if possible; destroy what ever lay beyond the portals. To do this, the Forman nations formed an expedition of military forces coming from all of their respective nations, an expedition that promises to reshape not only their own destiny, but the future of the world of remnant. How would Forma interact with Remnant's inhabitants? Would the Forman War erupt again and drag Remnant into the mess Forma was once in? Or would the threat of the Grimm force the Formans to permanently put their hatred and contempt for one another aside as they unite with Remnant against what probably is the greatest threat to all life? However, when a conflict threatens to destroy the world, dragons become the definition of beasts and humans become nearly helpless to survive the onslaught or become monsters themselves. As the planet closes on its own destruction, a child born of both universes will be either the last light of hope to end the bloodshed once and for all or become its greatest threat to not only Earth, but possibly the whole universe. As two beings run from death itself, their child must survive not just to save Humanity, but all of Dragonkind as well.
