Who the hell cares? Our main character here does. She cares a hell of a lot. Even if she pretends not to. She cares that she has a dumb name and that she can never seem to actually fit in. But she cares the most about the fact that she has never ever ever actually done anything interesting in her life.

They are sure that she'll give in and marry the man they've chosen rather than live on the streets. But then again, they've never really paid much attention to their daughter unless they wanted something from her. Helen would rather live on the streets and eat out of garbage dumpsters then return to her parents and marry the man that would make her life a living hell. At least on the streets she's free. She might starve or freeze to death but she'll be free. Then one day three men come after her, intent on forcing her and beating her for what little she has. Before one of them does more than grab her arm the three are gone. Helen looks down and finds them on the ground with their hearts torn out of the bodies. She looks at the person that did that in horror but then her sight goes black.Complete

"If we lived in the forest we wouldn't have gummy bears any more." I comment to lighten the mood. She doesn't find it funny. "I'm serious Remi! What if we did run away?" "Jen, we can't just run away. I know your parents are strict but I truly think they just want what's best for you." She says nothing. For a moment I fear she's mad at me but then she puts her head on my shoulder and I know we're okay.Complete
