It was a horrible experience. What happened ten years ago when Kara Lorens lost her parents in a fire. She referred to it as 'The Incident' and wanted nothing more than to forget about it. But as soon as she started to get used to the new life she had, she saw something that would have the memory stick with her forever. A beast perhaps? Of course, it was expected anyway. I mean, her life was already far from normal with her being able to read minds. But now, it's become much worse and more hectic as her life takes another horrendous turn.
