Following the destruction of the One Ring by Frodo Baggins, Gollum, and Samwise Gamgee the Dark Lord was defeated and the Nazgul dissipated by the death of their master. Freed from his control, at last, they could finally rest in peace and join Isildur and the other fallen Nazgul and great men who had worn the rings, all except for the witch King who created the prophecy of his death and creation of his one weakness. As the wraiths faded they thought they would find peace but they have not found it yet.
