Allie Porter died a hundred years before she was born. At least that's how the obituary read. What she brushes off as a fluke suddenly becomes reality through a freak accident, catapulting Allie back to 1884. Consumed with trying to find her way back, she's distracted by Merrick Stone, a boy with an elusively dark past. The more Allie gets to know him, the more she finds herself debating her desire to return home. When his brother, Bryce, enters the picture and is immediately smitten by Allie, it causes unending tension between the brothers. Shortly after her arrival, two shady individuals surface and begin stalking Allie, demanding something she doesn't have. When she refuses to cooperate they allude to a chasm in her past - a mother who abandoned her at birth. These men insinuate her mother is somehow involved in her current predicament. If she returns home it will destroy any hope of learning about her mother's disappearance. Allie knows that if she stays it means death, as her obituary looms closer. But leaving means losing the boy she's in love with. Her mind yearns for the future, but her heart now belongs to the past. It's time for Allie to make a heart-wrenching decision, one that she doesn't know if she'll survive.

After surviving an accident that took the life of both her parents, nine-year-old Joan Reynolds went to live with her spinster aunt, Emily O'Hara who taught her the tales of wee folk and light seekers. Joan soon came to realize not all fairytales were make believe as she soon encountered the spirit of a murdered girl, in need of help finding her way. It's been ten years since her first encounter with a spirit, until recently when she and her friend Diana left on a vacation to France. Now spirits are even calling her on the phone. After arriving at the home of Diana's relatives, Joan decided to take a trip into town on her bicycle where she encounters a ruggedly handsome highwayman, who abducts her. She soon learns this man is known as Jon Rene Bonneville, the rightful heir to the throne. It soon becomes apparent that she's there to help him reclaim his title, but as she works to restore him to his rightful place, they fall in love. Torn between two worlds she must make a decision, reclaim the title and possibly lose the man she loves, or live out their lives under the tyranny of the Count. His future is in her hands, has she the strength to embark on a journey that will rewrite history, and forever change both of their lives? She can only pray that no matter what path she puts her feet upon, destiny will lead her to where she belongs, even if it takes two hundred years to reclaim her heart.
