Allie Porter died a hundred years before she was born. At least that's how the obituary read. What she brushes off as a fluke suddenly becomes reality through a freak accident, catapulting Allie back to 1884.
Consumed with trying to find her way back, she's distracted by Merrick Stone, a boy with an elusively dark past. The more Allie gets to know him, the more she finds herself debating her desire to return home. When his brother, Bryce, enters the picture and is immediately smitten by Allie, it causes unending tension between the brothers.
Shortly after her arrival, two shady individuals surface and begin stalking Allie, demanding something she doesn't have. When she refuses to cooperate they allude to a chasm in her past - a mother who abandoned her at birth. These men insinuate her mother is somehow involved in her current predicament. If she returns home it will destroy any hope of learning about her mother's disappearance.
Allie knows that if she stays it means death, as her obituary looms closer. But leaving means losing the boy she's in love with. Her mind yearns for the future, but her heart now belongs to the past. It's time for Allie to make a heart-wrenching decision, one that she doesn't know if she'll survive.

The Edge of Misery: The Mitchel Brothers Series Book Two by BritCYancey
22 parts Complete
** Picks up where The Edge of Hell (Mitchell Brothers Series Book One) left off** If there's one thing Declan Mitchell learned from watching his mama almost die from the heartbreak of losing his daddy to a war nineteen years ago, it was that a great and powerful love delivered an equally devastating heartbreak and suffering-the kind he had every intention of avoiding like the bubonic plague. And until traveling west to Idaho Territory and coming face to face with the mismatch-eyed, auburn-haired beauty, Wren McCrawdon, he believed he might succeed in carrying out his plans of never marrying. Molded by her traumatic journey west when she was twelve, twenty-four-year-old, accident-prone Wren McCrawdon's life on her family's ranch in Falcon Ridge, Idaho, is full of back-breaking work, beginning as dawn's first rays peek across the mountains and ending long after the sun sets when she can barely drag her weary bones up the stairs to her bedroom. But from the morning Declan Mitchell and his family arrive, her miserable existence becomes more bearable until tragedy strikes when all she sees are the harsh realities of loss and suffering. Concerned for Wren's safety and remembering how bitter the edge of misery was after his daddy died-Declan discovers he's willing to do anything he can to take it away from her... even if it means a marriage of convenience is the only suitable solution. There are only two problems: first, it's already apparent he's following in his mama's footsteps toward eventual heartbreak, and second he somehow has to convince Wren to agree.

(Previously known as 'Forbidden love') My legs have a mind of their own and i find myself walking towards the bathroom. She left it unlocked. I turn the handle and open the door. The steam escaping. I walk further in and shut the door behind me. I don't think she can hear me. I strip from my clothes and push them to the side. I walk up to the bath tub that has a shower attached. I move the curtain out of the way and her back is facing me. She looks so beautiful right now it's too late to turn away. I step in and wrap my arms around her naked waist and rest my forhead on her shoulder blade. I hear her gasp and her body stills under my touch. Still not facing me, i speak. "i'm sorry if i hurt you. You don't understand, i do want you the same way you want me because... because... I'm in love with you" I've finally said it. •~•~•~•~•~•~•~•~• A lot is happening in Bella and Noahs' love story. If you were to ask me what if was like to fall in love with a cowboy, I would say it's like a wildfire. Once it starts, there's no way of stoping it. It burns you alive from the inside out. Consumes you, every part of you. At least that's how it felt for me when I fell for a cowboy, one who wasn't even mine and could never be mine because he belonged to somebody else and I'm left with figuring out how to put out this fire that is loving Kayce Dutton. ***** Darkness and tragedy was all Wren Wheeler knew from the day she was brought into this world. The only good thing in her life was her older brother, Rip. The one who saved her from the brutal ending their mother and younger brother weren't so lucky to escape from. She didn't believe they would ever have a chance of surviving out in the world. Not until John Dutton gave them a second chance at life, just as long as they swore to never bring their past with them to his ranch. The ranch where she found herself a family, a sister she never had, and a love she swore she'd never allow herself to experience. Because that kind of love was never meant for a girl like her. Kayce Dutton was never meant for her, and he could never be. They could never exist. Will destiny prove her wrong?
