The past can be quite misleading, even if you're trying to start over. Landing in a whole different country can be tough to get used to, but he handles it quite well. He has a past, and it is not a pretty one. He just wants to forget about it. When he meets her, things change... but then... things turn to the worse, and he has to come clean about his past.
