Don't say a word.  

Because he can't. 

No Percy Jackson can't talk. He writes out his sentences. No one understands why, they don't bother to ask. If they bothered they would find a boy without parents. They would find a boy put into foster care after his mom was murdered right in front of him. 

They'd find a boy who has given up hope for his voice to be heard. Because his speaking didn't save her. His speaking couldn't do anything to get that monster away from her. Because actions where to only thing that got him out of that hell, even if he did lose his mom. 

But . . . What about a girl who does try?

Percy Jackson had almost always been deaf. The reason he was deaf was because one day as Gabe was driving the car they crashed and the glass cut his ear so badly that he couldn't hear. Sometimes Percy thought he could hear something but he pretty much given up. He quickly learned sign language and could read lips easily even if it's in Spanish, Greek, or Latin. He'd given up hope of every hearing, mostly because when Percy read his stepfather's lips it was always trash talk to him. And when he didn't pay attention Gabe would get angry and Percy never liked an angry Gabe it always hurt in the end. After his mother's death Percy became nervous and scared because of his stepfather, afraid of what people said to him. Bullies constantly pushed hims around and he could do nothing about it. Mostly because Gabe wouldn't send him to a special school and most of the people there didn't know sign language. He had zero friends. That changed when one day their teacher was absent and the chemistry substitute was a Doctor Bruce Banner. Also OC Percy Jackson too- he's smart and knows how to use bow and arrow... At some point I'm going to rewrite this because it's absolutely shitty lol but I'll leave this version up BC... Nostalgia? Idk. Anyway, this book will get a new chapter announcing when the rewritten version is up. Percy X Apollo Percy Jackson is tired. Of everything. He and Annabeth broke up after the fall into Tartarus, neither being able to look at the other the same way. Sure, they stayed friends, but that doesn't make Percy feel any better about it. Some of the gods are concerned, but Zeus is forbidding them from checking in on him, intent on leaving demigods alone despite all they've done for the Olympians. Apollo, however, is ignoring this order. He cares a little too much about Percy to watch him suffer in silence. But when a new threat arises, how will the Olympians handle it? How will the demigods handle it? This is very all over the place, but I think it turned out well in the end. In this story, Nico is overprotective of Percy (still solangelo though) as a best friend. He's forgiven Percy for the whole ordeal about Bianca and now they're pretty close, both confiding in each other about things they never thought they'd tell a soul. The ships are: Pipabeth - Piper + Annabeth Chrisse - Clarisse + Chris Solangelo - Nico + Will Jaleo (platonic) - Jason + Leo because I despise Caleo sorry lmao Perpollo - Percy + Apollo I do not own any of these characters, all rights are to Rick Riordan other than the storyline/plot.
