Destiny Channing has been through hell and back in her life. So when she sees the new boy, she is wary. Over the course of her life she has learned that sometimes it is better to have no friends than friends who stab you in the back. But for some reason this boy is a magnet. He seems different to her, intriguing. But as the loss of her father still strangles her with agony, and the boys shadiness starts turning up unwanted questions, it starts to seem like maybe having a friend isn't all that worth it. And when unwanted people get into the mix, everything escalates very quickly. Suddenly, it's not about Destiny and the boy at all. It's about survival, and what you do for the ones you love and the ones you think you love.
