Willow Gray is sick and tired of it, all of it. She is a part of a secret society of evolved humans, humans who can see the auras of others and initiate their future through physical contact. In this society, Willow sits at the bottom of the food chain, her assigned aura color bringing only death and sorrow in its wake. When not one, but two, guys from the top of the social ladder take an interest in Willow, things begin to get complicated, which is only made worse when she has the Council breathing down her neck, a creepy stalker, a secret fiance, and the biggest bitch in school hating her guts, not to mention finals are coming up. Willow doesn't know anything anymore, doesn't know what to think, doesn't know what is true. Except one thing... She is a murderer.

Thirteen-year-old Rowan finds himself in Auradelle, a magical world that appears in his grandfather's drawer shortly after his death. Rowan would do anything to get his grandfather back, which means staying in Auradelle to find the Aura, a gem that holds the energy of the universe together, and has enough power to grant someone anything they wish for. Also after the Aura is Lord Adar, a vicious man who has resurfaced again in order to regain the Aura's power for unknown reasons. Rowan finds himself lost in a maze of Auradellians, who are all born Aardians (boys with the spirit of a forest animal and the ability to run faster than average), Gwydions (boys with the ability to show their emotions via a cloud of color, and can read thoughts), Celestes (girls with the heart, soul, and wings of a butterfly, who can see whatever they want to see), and Genesises (girls with the character and wings of a bird who can control objects with their mind). Lucky for him, Rowan soon meets new friends, all willing to help him search for the Aura as long as they get a share of wishes: Zoe, an Auradellian born hopelessly, ordinarily human, Seraphina, a Genesis with the most useless wings known to Auradelle, and Vivian, a blind Celeste. Together, they fight for their dream, but soon find out that they are keeping more secrets than information shared. Will Rowan find his way home? Or is he lost forever, with no grandfather, no Aura, and no friends to guide him on?

Willow's always been known as the good girl with the wealthy parents who could do no wrong. Little do they know that this seemingly perfect girl has some less than perfect secrets; and the fact that she's been sneaking out past curfew every night since the beginning of summer isn't the worst one. Distancing herself from the people at school has become lonely, but everything changes when a group of bad boys that she meets after curfew one night transfer to her school and begin to take an interest in her; one even more than the rest. But will they be able to protect her when events from her past re-surface and begin to get her into more trouble than she ever wanted? ********************** We were a circuit, electricity flowing through us at every connection, every light touch igniting a heat that was exhilarating but dangerous. Like we could catch fire and burn to the ground at any second. "Did you take your own advice? Did you ever forgive yourself?" I whispered, my words evaporating in the heat around us. He moved towards me, trapping me against the car door as his lips traced over my jaw, down to my neck. "This," he whispered, his thumb tracing the waistband of my jeans, making my breathing falter. "Allowing myself to feel this happiness, to feel you...this is me forgiving myself." He kissed me, calming the raging storm in me and igniting a new one. I wasn't sure which would cause more destruction, but I knew only one had pretty blue eyes and a effortless smile that could convince me it was all worth it. It probably was.
