"You belong with those miscreants." He said near my ear as he hugged me for, show, a smirk likely plastered on his visage.

He grabbed me with his arm feeling his nails dig into mine as he walked me farther ahead.

Abruptly stopping I turned to stare at the man before me holding the same stone expression.

"There's no need to pity, I'll come back. I'll destroy whatever love those people have for you and in the end when you're alone, I'll be the last thing you see."

I thought I'd finally gotten into this mans head yet he stood before me unfazed by my spiteful promise, the words he spoke after stiffening all the muscles in my body. Something about the words he chose made my head begin to ache and my insides uneasily turn.

"I've destroyed a family before. You may know them." He said moving forward walking towards the figure a few feet away.

"If your not careful I'll destroy everything you hold dear, girl." Looking into the corner of my eye I saw his smile wildly extended to his eyes

His grip on my bicep tightened enough to bring me face to face and by the way, his mouth lifted soundlessly expressed the power he held. Handing me to the Vogel behind me. His expression changed as he turned, a mournful one now present, reeling in all the people of the city as I was dragged away.

Out of sight. Out of mind.

The Rider's Legend

52 parts Complete

Hated by the people she's sworn to protect, dragon rider Neely Lynch searches for her stolen dragon while struggling to control the dark powers inside her. ***** After the Culling of Naughton -- a horrific slaughter that led to the murder of several dragon riders and the destruction of two separate armies -- Neely Lynch is on the warpath. Unbeknownst to most, Neely and her friends survived the Culling and are determined to reunite with their kidnapped dragons at any cost (even if that means leaving a trail of broken and bloody bodies behind them). But finding her dragon soon becomes the least of her problems when Neely discovers her disappearance after the Culling has only added to her reputation as the infamous Vidalin Rider. Hated and scorned by the people she's sworn to protect, Neely must find a way to prove she's not the villain everyone thinks she is before her dark and deadly powers, which are slowly growing beyond her control, transform her into the very thing she's trying not to be. [The Rider's Legend can be read as Book 3 in The Rider series, or as a standalone -- but note that it will spoil Book 1 and 2] [[word count: 150,000-200,000 words]]
