"I've met someone." These are the words you'd expect from a teenager or young adult. Meeting a person that you want to spend the rest of their life with. Not from a man who was 45 years old. The day had been normal, and all I had wanted to do was go hang out with my best friends. When my dad called a family meeting in the living room, we all knew it was serious. We hadn't had one of those since Mom passed. My two brothers and my younger sister were ecstatic. I was too, just a little hesitant. Dad hadn't had a girlfriend since Mom, and suddenly he had found another woman. I still stayed beside him, supported him, and met Jenny. She was amazing, and I can totally see why Dad likes her. I'm still beside him. But now that I knew I would have a stepbrother, I was even more hesitant. Now imagine my surprise when not only was there one stepbrother to meet the day I met Jenny, my dad's girlfriend. But four. And they are the most popular boys in school. And all but one hate me. Bring on the shiz, boys.
