"You say you want to live, Harley?" I nodded. My lungs were swept clean of breath "Then you'll come with me. You're gonna join us in helping people. Do you want to help people, Harley?" I nodded again. How could he ask me this? "Good. Then let's go help people." Without breaking eye contact, he gestured at the rest of the people in the line. I heard six shots ring through the air, followed by six thuds. Someone came from behind me and picked me up, dragging me forward. The strange man just stood there as I was dragged off. He seemed to be very pleased with himself. I wanted to do something to wipe that stupid look off of his face, but there was nothing I could do. There was nothing I had the motivation to do. He said I was going to help people. I'm going to live. That was a good thing, right?

It was too bad that I had nobody left to ask.
