With only a limited time before the boy who saved her dies, Mattie finally agrees to move in with Stark, a boy has is a part of a small number of boys in the country who are allowed near girls; a soldier's son. Ignoring the rule that to be allowed free range around non soldier related boys she can no longer be pure, all she has to do is live with Stark for six months, only he seems to be hiding something from her, something that will twist Mattie's life around, back to the horror that still haunt her nights.
