And then she sees him. Climbing a tree She watches him from a safe distance. A tale that started back in a place further from home. A boy she remembers yet also forgets. Three years after returning to America, Selene finally finishes out her years as a college student, gearing up to graduate in her final and fourth year to complete a Bachelors in Art Sciences. She's set to graduate in three months in the state of Washington. The streets are quiet in her home neighborhood, but the city nights are always busy. Everything was going fine. She had her father's support, she was living in an apartment down in a city forty miles from Seattle and she drew quietly at home and went to school by day. She didn't even have to work so long as she had good grades, her father would pay her way. Then an unusual quiet night on campus sparked her curiosity. As the college closed up for the close of the quarter, she noticed them wandering the grounds. Four figures were hunched over at the fountain, one of them laughing loudly. She didn't usually pay any mind till she caught the reflection of one of their eyes, casting a yellow gaze back at her that shook her. A familiar look she couldn't place. She drew in closer, her voice timid to call out to them. Why did he come to mind? What happened to him after she was shot? She hardly could recall. Her mind was fuzzy with questions, but she began to notice more now that the group was either looming closer to her or she was drawing herself closer to them. When she got to them, the realization of what she did finally came to mind. This wasn't the type of can of worms she should have opened. Why couldn't she just remember to stay away?! Her vision blurry, eyes teary, ears ringing, as her head starts buzzing from the hard impact. She watches, as the red shining droplet falls and taints everything in its own darkness. She hears muffled voices, just as she feels a tingling sensation when she realises a hand on her shoulder and it's owner. A sob leaves her lips, when she realises what she has to do. His voice sounds in her ears, as she memorizes that baritone for the last time directed to her, "Are you okay?", with care. She pulls her hand, gathering her energy as silent pained tears falls down her face concentrating her powers. Suddenly, he jerks and falls stiff on his back, unable to move his body. His eyes widened as he registers what she is going to do, all while whispering, "No, no, please don't...". Grabbing a tree, she stands up painfully slow with tears running down her face uncontrollably. She takes a step towards him and sits on his torso, as she wails for everything happened to him and for everything she could have had, but now can't. To the Gods, for cursing her with her damned destiny. He slowly cups her face, and joins their heads released from the powers unknown to her, as he comforts her, "Don't worry, we will be over this, together." Her sobs turns quiet, just when suddenly again his body jerk back in same position, as she apologize, "Sorry, but I can't be selfish enough, not for you, for me and for us." As she slams her fisted kuckles down his head again and again.

"Come here, my little one." "Yes, Mistress." I took the chain of her collar again and tugged it. She sat up. "On all fours." She placed her hands on the ground, walking on her knees with me to a place where there was more room. I could see the wonderful wounds I had created on her back. They must've stung still. I stopped walking and tugged her collar again. She quickly sat down on her knees, still with her hands on the ground. The smile stayed on my face when I could see those drowsy eyes looking at me desperately. "Praise me." I demanded. She quickly bent to the ground. "I love you.. You're the best thing that ever happened to me. All I can think of is you, all the time. I didn't know what to do with my life until I met you, Mistress. I don't deserve you. I deserve nothing. I am nothing. You may treat me however you want. You may hurt me, just for your pleasure. You may do anything, just because you feel like it." "Go on." "...I love you. I'm obsessed with you. You're all that is on my mind. Sometimes I just want to.. look you up, just to see you. I have." "What do you mean?" "It's nothing, Mistress." I quickly pulled up her chin. "That's not what I asked." "I.. I try to see if you're home when I walk past your house." I looked shocked at her. I quickly pushed her over. "You what?! Have you never heard of privacy?" Selena let herself fall to her side, covering her head. She was genuinely scared. I clenched my fingers around the handle of the cane, but then let it slip it out of my hands. The sounds of wood crashing against a wooden floor sounded through the room. Selena startled, looking at the cane. She quickly got up on her knees again, placing her forehead on the ground. "I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. I'm not doing it again, ever. You deserve privacy. You do." THIS BOOK IS MEANT FOR 18+ READERS. She'd spent many years playing in this forest as a child. While Selene had enjoyed her novels in the warmth of the house, a blanket wrapped around her narrow shoulders, Sidra always came home covered in mud and scrapes from hours out in the wilderness. She'd take an axe out into the forest and pretend to fight off monsters, the terrifying Mystics that her grandmother had told her stories about. She'd pretend to fight Lycans, knocking out their massive teeth one by one. She'd stand atop rocks and throw her axe at the trees, pretending they were wood nymphs come to steal her away. She'd always return home and tell Selene about the monsters she'd fought that day, spinning together a story of courage and bravery for her little sister. She felt that pain in her heart again as she thought of those times. Through the years, she'd stop going into the woods to play, and she'd instead find stories for Selene. Books of all sizes and shapes, no matter the content, because it made her feel close to her sister just as she had before her parents died. She thought of her family now, how she was all alone. Her parents had been gone for years, her grandmother, and now even Selene was missing somewhere. She needed to find her sister, she couldn't lose the last bit of her family. **
