What would you do for more time with your best friend?

Harry Styles and Scarlett Mitchell have been best friends ever since they were born. They would always stay up all night at each other's houses, tell lame jokes, drive around town in the middle of the night, and they were inseparable.

But one day Scarlett is diagnosed with cancer.

Harry stood by her, taking care of her while having to watch his best friend die before his own eyes.

One day at the hospital things turn bad and it doesn't look good for Scarlett. As Harry waits outside her room, a mysterious woman in black shows up and he tells her something he means with all his heart.

"I would die every day for her."

The next day, doctors are shocked to see Scarlett's cancer was gone and she was as healthy as ever.

Little did he know those seven little words he had said the day before would change his life.

[a harry styles fanfiction] - lawyer!harry ▪︎ ▪︎ Note to my past self--do not, I repeat, do not say yes to marrying the handsome stranger you happen to know absolutely nothing about. I wasn't getting married in a lush green garden while the few friends I had cheered us on as I had always imagined I would. I wasn't laughing or crying from extreme happiness as every bride did at one point during the ceremony. I wasn't even wearing a white dress, let alone my dream wedding gown. Instead of a beautiful wedding dress, I had on a simple blue dress and I was standing next to the wrong man, one who did nothing but frown and glower. Also, his grip surprisingly tight around mine. Such a simple act, but holding a stranger's hand while you're getting married? Not fun. Hell, forget about handholding--I was about to be the wife of a man I knew nothing more about than what a quick Google search had provided. Yet I had willingly and knowingly agreed to this, hadn't I? ▪︎ ▪︎ [not my original story]
