When Lily was born the world literally shook and tragedies abounded. Every year since then on her birthday some nation wide tragedy would strike. A hurricane in Washington one year, New Zealand sunk another. Now at 17 Lily is coming into new and unknown things that couldn't have been real. With few people to help her master what's happening will the world be destroyed or will Lily destroy it and everything she has ever loved.

Emma had a different childhood than most. "Go fetch the food!" or "Go get the water!" Were the most of chores she had to do. It was grow up fast or die in her city! On Emma's 17 birthday she would be old enough to go out side of the city walls and look for communication to other parts of the world.
