Julia Wright always thought life was simple, almost easy. But when 8th grade comes around, she's suddenly faced with a load of trouble, especially with guys. Nate, her best friend since childhood, has started to become timid and shy around her for no apparent reason, at least not that she knows of. She meets a new boy in her class named Braden, who's a hottie at first sight but then starts to talk to her about things she never imagined he would've known. Both guys are trying to vie for Julia's attention but Julia isn't sure who to chose. Even at home, things are starting to spin out of control. Her brother Devon has left home and left a couple clues for his favorite sister, but it's obvious that he isn't coming home after "The Big Fight".
