Can Jake Soloman evade a creature lurking in the shadows, uncover the truth about a mysterious scientist, and find the long lost gold of Predator Island?

During a shark dive off Cocos Island-covered by journalists from Adventure Magazine-Jake Soloman, a marine biologist with Sea Lab International discovers a piece of gold on the ocean floor. With this new find and the revelation of a centuries old map leading to an even greater stash of lost treasure, Jake and the Sea Lab team can't resist the lure of deciphering the map's clues and following its path to a famous hoard of stolen Spanish gold. During the search, he encounters a scientist who claims to be the lone survivor of an attack by a ferocious predator on the island's park ranger station. Do your genes, your parents, teachers, or your master determine who you will be in life? Can they set your value in the universe? 650 years ago the known species of the universe came together and signed the Alliance, a document that would help each race find its place in the universe. It granted freedom to some and the scant protection of slavery to others. Into this society a handful of children are born who will change it forever, if they can survive to adulthood. Here is the origin story of two of those children. Hathu is born to a man determined to make the universe bow to him and his species. Since he learned to talk, Hathu has been a disappointment to his father. He doesn't want to become a warrior, and he refuses to assert his dominance. When he accidentally overhears his father plotting against the Ir'Klahn empire, can Hathu stop him? Mik is born with no rights, destined to become a lifelong slave. His mother tries to protect him from this fate by running away and finding a home for them on a trading ship that travels from world to world. They are safe for now, but how long can they hide from the best trackers in the universe? This is the first book in the My Kingdom Come series.
