Even after the death of the Monarch of the Abyss the world is far from stable or safe, what remains of humanity lives inside a singular city, protected by a handful of sworn heroes, monsters lurk outside, remnants of that awful day. Forty years later a new hero appears, bearing a scarily familiar power, he'll endure many burdens in a bid to learn more about himself and those he works with in this corrupt society where heroes are revered as gods among men and all logic is replaced with propaganda. A threat from within their own walls threatens to tear humanity apart from the shadows, the heroes will need to overcome both the monsters beyond their walls and threats from their own people in order to prevail, humanity's fate will soon be at hand, will it be salvation or oblivion?

This is an adaptation of the first 'real' QFA story, meant as a prequel to kick-start everything else in the 'QFA extended universe.' Selected Golden Book amongst all categories in the Seasonal Awards 2021 Winner in Fantasy Category at the Seasonal Awards 2021 *** Moses, a poor boy accused of murder and banished to Elisium, finds out that exactly a loop (441 years) ago, on the same day, Solomon, a young prince running from his father's murderers landed in Aden and transformed the whole world, and now Moses has to do the same. However, an explorer has made Moses's daunting task near impossible by unearthing the portal connecting the two worlds and discovering that everything that exists on one planet has its exact copy on the other, including humans. When the people of the two worlds created identical by nature meet, they realize they are on opposite ends of the spectrum of development . A conflict ensues where the rising Aden overpowers the stagnating Elisium to start a cycle of exploitation. Now Moses, the supposed reincarnation of Solomon the Conqueror, has to set things right by triggering the Transition - a process that puts one world in the ascendancy at the start of every loop - to bring Elisium on par with Aden. The Transitioner can control elements and show miracles by using the tremendous powers of the Amulet of Transition but these same powers can cause massive destruction as Solomon found out when he blew up Elisium's capital. To save Elisium and return to his beloved Aden Moses has to defeat Aden's despotic king who, with his huge armies and deadly weapons, is hell-bent on keeping Elisium under his foot. On a fateful afternoon, Aden's forces drive Moses into a corner to end this Dance of Two Worlds forever. Moses, and Elisium's hope, are at gunpoint but destiny has an ace - Jennifer - up its sleeve to realize an unfulfilled destiny and make the two worlds identical, again.

When a promising job pops up to go pick mushrooms he's just about two steps from closing the deal when a giant, quiet Kazcta arrives in the tavern. His arrival ruins his chances at a solo job and he's forced to go on the long journey with the emotionless 'oaf'. As bonds develop, secrets churn, and words are exchanged, they get closer and closer to the mushrooms. All until the Kazcta becomes ill and too many lines have been crossed for Stealth to pretend it wouldn't hurt if he lost the big, surly, oaf.
