For her entire life, Ashwin Astar has always worked better alone. Taken in by the Wizard Gandalf as a teen, she developed a small set of magical abilities. But now, as a young adult, she works in a tavern, occasionally doing odd jobs to afford the necessities.
But when Ashwin is invited to a Hobbit hole in the shire by Gandalf, she is confronted by a group of dwarves, who want her assistance on a long, harrowing journey that none of them may return from.
Who could resist an offer like that?
Certainly not someone like Ashwin Maurice Astar.
