This is a paper I have written as a result of my Independent Study in English. It covers an in depth examination of four odes describing how they draw from their traditional roots and exemplify the modern ode.

The Odes:
"Ode to The West Wind" -Percy Bysshe Shelley
"Ode to Bombed London" -Philippe Soupault
"Ode to the Table" -Pablo Neruda
"Ode to a Nightingale" -John Keats
