❝every soft touch drove her out of her mind❞ It’s not easy being who you are. Especially if it’s 1935 and you’re a lesbian. And Joyce knows this by heart. Each day is hard, each night slow and empty. But with practice, she puts a smile on her face. And her parents wave away the days when she was ‘experimental’, but nothing more. She smiles at expectant and dull kisses from her boyfriend and pretends to enjoy the annoying dates and giggles at each thing a school yard girl says about the newest boy. But all of this changes when she meets Elizabeth. Elizabeth - freestyle, amazing, confident and gorgeous. Of course, a lesbian. But oh-so-perfect Liz is hiding something. Dangerous and deep. And suddenly Joyce’s burden to bear. [Based off the song ‘Addicted to You’ by Avicci].

"There's a blaze of light in every word, it doesn't matter which you heard: the holy or the broken, 'Hallelujah.'"- Leonard Cohen The poems in this series center on two characters: I, the speaker, and You, the speaker's subject. I is not a specific gender or orientation. I is meant to mold to the reader's idea of who they would be. We follow I in not only a love story, one where love blossoms and lingers until its destruction, but a tale of self-discovery, where, after a long and arduous quest for it, I finally finds happiness.
