Kitik is a fighter in the Kurdish peshmerga, clearing snipers and mines from cities in Iraq occupied by Daesh (ISIL), and freeing captives. It's tough, dangerous work, and she's good at it, having survived more than a year on the front lines. Her grasp of house-to-house tactics gives her an advantage, along with her powers of observation, quick wits, (and a good aim). But when she goes against a wounded sniper with a Yazidi woman as hostage, she's forced to play a three-handed game with life-or-death consequences.
The title is a Kurdish proverb.
