Loki, Thor, Heimdall, Bruce, Valkyrie, and the people of Asgard had fled their doomed home on the Statesman. Thor needs to accept his title as King, as he thought it was what he wanted years ago, but at that time he was driven by arrogance and ignorance, bringing shame upon his realm. When Thanos attacks, and Thor finds himself and his brother on Midgard, having no idea if Bruce or Valkyrie survived, he looks over all his life choices. The people are dead, having been brutally murdered by the Mad Titan, but they aren't out of danger yet.
