A purple reminds us of penance
A red reminds us of passion
The duo entails sacrifice
When one is Humility, the other is Love.

A day of Ash to begin the fast
Again is a day of love to give it all
While the fast is for mortification
The self giving is for end_justification.

These two though appearing opposite
Are quite mystical and rewarding too
When Christ's passion is for our salvation
St. Valentino did died in promoting His love.

Let the beauty of this two
In this very year of the Lord
Be not to our detriment by way of sin
But instead to being like them_Christ and Val.

Remember _You are dust and to dust you shall return hence, repent and believe the gospel_
