At a young age, my parents were killed by the Port Mafia and I was captured, taken to their labs. You see, Mori-san wanted to see if he could give people abilities. Make the Mafia stronger and whatnot. However, he didn't want to test it on one of his valuable members so he chose me, some random girl. Project X. 

Everyone doubted him, thought he was crazy. Made fun of him for his idealistic goals. Funny thing is, it actually worked.
