The Alchemist

Jeremiah the Fifth was a lowly villager, the son of the hamlet's best healers not that there were any others. He trained under the guidance of his father, Jeremiah the Fourth, commonly referred to as Healer J, for the first 15 years of his insignificant life.
He spent most of his spare time with Hearth the village 'storyteller'. Hearth was an old man of around in his 60's who had traveled far and wide in his youth completing many quests all over Glorantha. Jeremiah liked just to sit and listen to Hearth's tales with the odd question and interjection.
It was when Jeremiah had just turned fifteen years of age that Hearth murdered by a mysterious stranger one blowy winter night. That is where this story begins.
This is the backstory to Jeremiah the Fifth a character I play in the Role Playing Game, Runequest. The chapters are very short as this is my first book.
I also don't now much about Glorantha the world in which this story is set so it might be a bit off. I hope you enjoy the story anyway.
