"Zindagi Haseen Hai" is Urdu for "Life is beautiful". I am an 18-year-old Paskitani girl who is about to experience some big changes in her life; I'm moving to Canada in June (whereas I grew up in Qatar in the Middle East), and I'm starting university in September. Although I turned 18 ten days after writing this poem, I do not feel like a "grown-up" at all; rather, I feel like a child who is just starting her journey.



"Zindagi Haseen Hai" describes how I feel about these changes. It's a lot for me to take, and I know there will inevitably be many hardships to come, but I know the journey will be as beautiful as I make it, and I'm so excited to set out that I can barely contain myself! Every human being is a rose petal, every human being is beautiful, and I want to move forward to discover where I will end up. I'm just a tiny rose petal; to where will the wind carry me?
