Crystal Rey-Mikaelson was turned by Esther Mikaelson along with the rest of the original family after she had married Esther's son, Kol, a year before hand.
Once they had turned, Crystal spent the next 500 years on the run from Mikael..before Chelsea has enough. The Mikaelsons were family to her, but Niklaus had Kol daggered for centuries - which took the fun out of everything.
Now she lives in Mystic Falls, helping with the supernatural business going on within the old town. When Klaus shows up to break the curse set on him 1000 years ago - Crystal doesn't know if she should be worried or relieved. You see - Klaus is not the only one with a hidden ability.
