Over one hundred years ago, in a bid to rid the world of mortal weakness, the city of Srialya introduced the Canine System. Three classes: Greyhounds, Bloodhounds, Wolfhounds - used to make up a dehumanising hierarchy that measure strength and intellect to segregate the weak from the strong, and remodel humanity as it was known.
Seventeen-year-old Rosa is a Bloodhound and has never known life outside of the Canine System.
However, Srialya is at war with the distant Lands, and Rosa finds herself recruited to fight the same battle which has already taken the lives of people she knows and loves.
Shortly after arriving on the Lands, Rosa finds herself separated from her pack and captured by the very people she swore to kill. But the Landers are not all they were promised to be.
Guarded by an alluring warrior and his trigger-happy sidekick, Rosa must now navigate a different type of survival: that of her own heart.
The more her relationships develop, the more she begins to slowly unravel the vicious truth about her civilization. As she seeks to find freedom and justice, Rosa must also battle with the heartbreak of those she's lost, the secrets of those she's gained, and the loyalty of those she thought she always had.
