Caleb fue una vez un pistolero temido, hasta que conoció a una mujer que participó en un culto misterioso conocido como Cabal. Caleb, también se engancha, y pronto se convierte en uno de los elegidos de los adoradores de la Tchernobog Evil. Pero un día, inexplicablemente Tchernobog mata a los cuatro elegidos, incluido Caleb. Misteriosamente resucitado años después, Caleb está fuera para vengarse, y averiguar por qué su señor acabó con él tan abruptamente.

Blood es un juego de acción en primera persona desarrollado por 3D Realms y Monolith Productions para PC en 1997.
De corte clásico FPS, Blood sigue una línea muy similar a Doom: abrirse camino a través de hordas interminables de enemigos para pasar de nivel. Pero, además de liquidar a cualquiera que se cruce en nuestro camino, tendremos que usar nuestro ingenio para descifrar algunos puzzles sin los cuales no podremos avanzar.

Como el título indica, las imágenes violentas y sangrientas juegan un papel importante en el juego. Los enemigos pueden explotar cuando se caen, es posible lanzar cabezas cortadas; algunas víctimas empaladas se pueden encontrar por ahí, y los enemigos mueren de diferentes maneras dependiendo de la forma en que son atacados y en qué parte de su cuerpo, etc.
