Once Upon a Time in Education
What's it really like being a teacher? Not like, the grading and lesson plans, but what do you *think* about as a teacher? How does teaching make you think back about going through school yourself? What are the emotions? I started writing all this because after every graduation ceremony for my students, I'd drive home and feel like I was still a kid in the eyes of my family. As it says in the following pages, I'd come home and no one would listen. So I kept thinking how... "...I'd love one good conversation with my parents, these days. Which is heartbreaking, because they aren't gone. Not yet. They will be someday, but right now they're relatively healthy, maybe about as much as usual, as ever. But the conversations are as limited as always, too. After one of these graduations, if only they'd ask with the same warm tones I use with my students about if there were any neat kids I met, or fellow staff I really helped. I'm not a saint, but it's because of my own childhood that I know how much frustration a student, a person, can go through when no one listens. Yet here we are, still, with conversations about the new house and what trees to take down, about the myriad projects of yard and room. We're here still talking about the last time I saw an optometrist, about if the windows were weatherized. I swear, if it wasn't for asking about my son, their grandson, the conversations would be no different than when I was in high school myself, asking merely about responsibilities and chores." My Hero Academia: Wild Fire
The year after you were born, your parents gave you up for adoption. You were adopted by a lovely, quirkless couple that loved like you were their own flesh and blood. You also grew up in a quirkless neighborhood. Everybody loved you until, you got your quirk. People started to avoid and shun you for being a freak. You were depressed and alone. One day, as you were on your way to finish the 7th grade, a villain attacked near your quiet community. You, being the only person with a quirk, try to fight the villain. A pro hero comes to your aid and witnesses your amazing skills. He suggests for you to enroll in UA but, with you being a year younger and still has to finish junior high, he encourages you to skip a grade to enter. You take on that chance and you work hard to achieve that goal, along with training with that pro hero. As the faithful day came, you were accepted into UA! Unfortunately, you miss the whole first two days of the semester due to a cold. Soon enough, finally attended UA and meet your fellow, student peers. You finally found a place where you belong! Yet, one student in particular seemed to catch your eye. An ash haired boy, who has a HUGE temper and ego, and is set on becoming the #1 hero. Huh, a cocky bastard and a outcast. I wonder how that will turn out? (Disclaimer: I do not own anything related to BNHA or the cover I used for this book. They each belong to their respectful owners.
