Kellin had spent his whole life, and it had been a very long life, watching countless people fall in love. Don’t get him wrong, he loved it. He loved watching people get that happy ending they had been searching their whole lives for, loved seeing that look on people’s faces the first time they laid their eyes on one another, and he loved knowing he was part of the reason for the smile on their faces. Despite all the things he loved about his job, he hated it just as much, or more resented it really. Every day of every year he saw people in love. If it wasn’t his doing, it was a couple walking by in the park, or sitting in the coffee shop he frequented. Kellin had spent his whole life watching countless people fall in love, but he had never had the pleasure of experiencing the feeling for himself.
