They were going to send 100 delinquents to the ground as an experiment to see whether the level of radiation was survivable or not. In doing so, they managed to sentence almost all of them to an untimely death that was almost inevitable. With the idea of freedom, Hailey knows that she is never safe and that if weaknesses are shown, someone will use them against her. Will she be able to overcome her emotional and mental walls, even if it means that she'd be vulnerable? Being on the ground will change Hailey in ways that the people on the ark would never expect. She will find a better version of herself. Hailey will become what she was always meant to be, a warrior. Typically, when a crime is committed on the Ark, the committor is floated into space, but if they are under the age of eighteen they must be held in a prison cell until the age of eighteen when they are reviewed. Eve was locked up for six months, but one-hundred juvenile delinquents including herself were sent to Earth to see if it was habitable. While on the ground, Eve desperately tries to seem as if she didn't brutally kill her step-mother, but once somebody finds out all hell brakes loose. As, she becomes persecuted, Eve desperately wants to make amends with her father, but he is stuck in the Ark dying along with his people.
