NEW UPDATED EDITTED VERSION ON MY PROFILE!!!! THIS IS A FIRST DRAFT, OFFICIAL EDITTED VERSION IS BEING PUBLISHED UNDER THE OTHER HER ONLY CHANCE!!!!!!

Where trust is the thing you cannot rely on, who can you trust?

____________________________________________________

What I went through . . . I couldn't wish that upon anyone.

It wasn't just horrific, it was everything. I walked through death, walked through heartbreak, I walked through betrayal, I walked through a city of ruins, I walked through unimaginable tests.

I survived against things you wouldn't even want to know. Things you couldn't even conjure up with your imagination. But I still did.

But you want to know the worst of it all?

I only had one chance.

____________________________________________________

Where nations are now out of control with the sudden rise of population and the demand of essential items and access to shelter, the government needed to take back control of society.

So all the major powers of the world joined together and after a long ten decades of suffering, came to a conclusion; Resdue. Which was basically an acronym of saying 'death test'.

Two students from each individual high school in either grade eleven or twelve would be chosen by the principle and teaching committee to be sent to the Resdue Test.

You were supposed to rely on your partner and was forced to as if one partner were to die, you would join them in death.

But when Bryce Henson is chosen from her school, she can only hope she can survive the first test.

{COMPLETED} "now that you've had your fun electrocuting me, would you care to hop in the backseat?" ---------------------------------------------------------- Freak DNA. That's what I like to call it. The fault to my genetic code. More often than not, it's a curse. The static running through my blood gave me a name. A cruel, daunting label of a measly bug. A roach. That's what I am to them, to the government. Roach; the nameless monster with electricity for a sense and lightening as a second nature. It ruined my life, the sparking currents playing tag in my mind, running around and bumping into everything, shaking me loose. The government, actually. They ruined my life. My curse just gave them a reason. You see, the normal population with ordinary DNA, they don't know about the people like me. The roaches of the world. We don't get that kind of recognition at the camps. There, we are only one thing in the military's eyes. We are weapons and we will act like it. Everyone else out there, bathing in the goodness they don't know they've got, they don't know about the roaches their stepping on. As long as their getting closer to the sky, they don't care what they stand on to reach it. They don't know about the sparkling dreamer that's killed 7 people before her 17th birthday. They don't about the ghost of a girl peaking around corners for her entire life because even home wasn't safe. They don't know about the fighter of steel and iron sucking on his bloody lip courtesy of the wars he battles in as nothing but a shadow. They don't know about the masked villain who would do anything to see the army they lead claim the throne They don't know about us. But they will, because we will rise. And when we arrive, we will arrive violently. ___________________________________________ Started: 10.06.15 Finished: 3.17.16

Have you ever met someone who alters the course of your life? For good or for bad, they've come in, given and taken, and then- BOOM! Your life was never the same. There's always a change, an altering of reality. When you meet those people, the reality that you've known your whole life is suddenly gone and a new one has taken its place. When those moments happen, there's no going back. You can try to return to the way things were but nothing, and I mean nothing, can take you back to exactly how it was. That's what happened to us. I think that's why we're still trying so desperately to get back to some sort of normalcy. Four years later and we're still on the ground, crawling, in search of the happiness that was lost that June. Summers will never be the same. Midnight walks through my neighborhood will never be the same. Field parties with bonfires and loud music will never be the same. I still don't know why you left and what lead you to the decision you made. What I do know is that we're here. We're alive and we're pushing forward to the future. A future that you're not a part of. But in some ways, I'm glad you're not a part of it. I just wish it wasn't like this. *** TRIGGER WARNING*** SA, abuse, suicide, substance abuse, and mental illness. This is a complete story that is much like life; fast, full of surprises, and not always how we want it to be. This has been a project of mine for over three years. It was self-published on Amazon, but after some issues in publication, I decided to just upload it on here. I hope you fall in love with these characters like I have. The friends in this story are trying to make names for themselves, figure out who they are, who they can trust, how to love, and how to separate themselves from a restrictive community. As in any coming of age story, they will experience growing pains... but will they survive them before its too late? PLEASE READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS.

'The slap left a sharp sting in my palm letting me know that I definitely hurt Blaze. By now tears were pouring down my face. "I hate you Blaze." I turned around to leave when I felt him grab my arm pulling me against him. He leaned over speaking into my ear as he pressed his hard toned stomach against my back. He had a tight grip on my arm and one arm around my waist to stop me moving away. "You've slapped me three times now Jade. You better watch out because next time I won't let you get away with it." I closed my eyes when I felt his breath on my neck. We both seemed to be enjoying the position and close proximity too much since neither of us tried to move.' CRINGE WARNING! First book I ever wrote on here!! -- "Sometimes the person who you are willing to take a bullet for is the person behind the gun." I stood peering over the cold lifeless body that lay before my eyes. I had always thought of death the enemy, but right now, I blessed it upon the person who is now at peace. Sometimes you don't need to be the smartest, or the fastest, but you do need to be wisest. They say the blood runs deeper than water, and I believe it, because even though the people that we love can turn on us and begin to hate us, they are only human, meaning that soon they will begin to see how short life really is and how it is not to be wasted. People who seem perfect and they look like they have no floors'; they are the people who are suffering, like I was. But I found my savior in the most uncommon place. He was able to look through my mask, he saw the cracks, and tried to fix the broken girl that hid away deep inside the girl who only wanted to be seen as 'fine'. I slowly began to find comfort and safety in him, and I did the same to him. We were two broken people becoming whole. Someone once said when you pass, if you can count your true friends on one hand you are beyond lucky, and I even though I did not like the person that lay before me, I know that he once had true friends, including me. I'm a 17 year old girl who has suffered more than any other, beginning to believe that 'Hope' was just another word the people throw around. Until I fell in love with a badboy. Life comes at us with different tests, different tricks and different obstacles and the more you go through them the harder they get, just like a game, the higher the level the more difficult the game gets. That's something some of us have to find out the hard way, we remain clueless about how hard life can get until it hits us with full force leaving us completely and utterly confused on how we're gonna get through it but if we persist, then we find out that no condition is permanent. And that's also something Relic had to find out in a very harsh way, imagine people you love and trust most turning away as you are blamed for something you never did or losing a loved one after just being reunited with them, and then imagine going through mental trauma and no one even notices, all this is a short example of how cruel life suddenly gets but if your persistent enough, it'll eventually pass. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hello there, this is probably the first book in the world that I intend on actually completing and I'm just going to warn you guys in advance, if maybe I suddenly get bored of writing this book and stop writinig it I am terribly sorry but it doesn't mean I won't try and complete it, I just don't want you guys to experience the heart break I feel when I'm so engrossed in a book but then find out that the writer isn't going to continue from where they left off so I'm warning you guys in advance, read at your own risk cause I'm not sure if I'll complete it. Lot's of love 😘 Enjoy ☺️
