Down underground, there was an underground tunnel that led to a secret stash of canned goods, clothing, and supplies like rope and tools. This was the Awesome Hole, as Naomi called it. Nobody but the Railers knew about this. Oftentime Matt would itch to invite his friends into it. He used to have 3 friends, but now that number is 2 because Jack, a boy 2 years older than him, left. Matt was told not to worry about it, but he couldn't help it. It was only human to worry about his friends.
But then, being human could get you killed in this world.
