In the near future, humans begin colonizing planets beyond Earth. It is very apparent that humans are not adequately built to withstand the extremes of other planets' ecosystems and variations, particularly during terraforming. Therefore, humans engineered a race of creatures to do so for them.

After a period of time, the engineered race revolted, and sought to escape the chains of humans. They simply wanted to leave in peace, but humans wouldn't let them. For hundreds of years, humans chased them deeper into the galaxy.

However, another force intervened. Now, both humans and Kerr were threatened.
