As I step into the elevator I click the button for the first floor. As the door closes I rest my head against the wall and close my eyes. I really need a nap. My gaze traveled to his eyes, where I found two deep ocean blue eyes looking at me. I kept going further down to his too crooked nose to be called straight, which I assumed came from too many fights. His skin was tanned, but an olive tone suggested he had a natural darker complexion to begin with. My eyes finally found his pink, very plump lips which were resting slightly open. His lips jerked up into a lopsided sneer as his hand snapped back to his side. The sudden movement left my back cold, as if his palm had been a source of warmth. "You've got to be kidding me!" His tone dripped with disgust. My eyes turned to questioning as I looked back up into his eyes. I brought my hand up to rub my nose, squinting at the slight pain. "What the hell." He grumbled. "I, Jay Julian, reject you as my mate." He, or Jay, said with venom lacing his voice. He quickly turned and walked down the now vacant hallway with no glance back. Rejection? What the hell was that? Was it some sort of local lingo? How did I get rejected on my first day? The first person I make eye contact with at this school rejects me. I guess that's how this school works, if the hottest boy in school rejects you, you're a nobody. If that's how this small town school worked, then I was screwed. So much for making friends, or mates, or whatever they call people in this place. I shake those ocean blue eyes out of my head and continue into the office to start my new life.

Geovanni Have you ever gotten that feeling that somebody was watching you? And that person who was watching you wasn't normal. I have felt that way all of my life; but then again I felt as if I went missing nobody would even notice or care I was gone. I am 23 and just graduated from college. I was there an extra year because I had to take care of my family. I had to transfer back into the city and pick up the extra work because my mom died, and my dad became addicted to anything that would numb his pain. I laid back in my bed and closed my eyes. Then all of a sudden I got the feeling I wasn't alone. But the really strange thing is that even if there was someone in here with me I felt safe. Jordan. I watched her as she slept. In fact I have been watching her since she was born. I have waited half a century to find that one person. I think I have finally settled on her. She was my choice. I know. After being in as many relationships as I have you know things. I felt my fangs tingle. Her blood smelled so sweet. Her heartbeat was steady and strong. I took my tongue and ran it across my fang. The temptation to indulge in her red liquid was far too strong. I let out a low growl and jumped out her window. I was ready for a hunt. I quietly shuffled out of my bed, put my foot on the carpet and tried not to make noise. My door was closed so I tried to open it but it made a creak. There were two neon green lights glowing. At me. The creature then switched positions and stood up which made move backwards. It moved closer. There was no more room. I fell to the floor. It came to my face.

She put the phone to her ear whispering, "Venus?" "Who is this?" The girls head jerked up at the sound of sirens and flashing lights, she dropped her phone running for the front door... Venus Roberts, troubled kid, forced to move to a new town because of her fathers work, the young girl didn't like the feeling she got stepping into their new home, from hearing footsteps to seeing things, the young girl takes it upon herself to figure out what exactly happened when realizing it's connected to her brother.
