In the Corilain Kingdoms, two princesses have very different upbringings and bloodline background. Mave has been stuck in her room, lessons only by her guardian and best friend, Kora. Mave is like a ghost. A rumor. Keely has been taught all the skills of being a queen, most from her bossy housemaid, Maria. Life in the public eye. The queen, Queen Lilian, is off in Opalia, while the two princesses stay in Draton until the ball where they get put into the real world-The Masquerade Ball. When the two unknowingly meet, there is love at first sight. As their connection deepens, they travel together to Opalia to celebrate the annual celebration of the Klin Kingdoms, Corialin Kingdoms, and the Daga Kingdoms, where two princesses themselves have just gone through this change. The night before the festival, the four princesses go through a change. Impossible. Insane. And prophesied for decades.
