I decided to write a short story because I have always enjoyed writing on my free time. For instance from writing when I truly cherished and enjoyed a moment that I have had in my life to when I'm in a deep dark place screaming for help, the pen and paper are my savior. I thought it would be an easier route for me to take since I have some knowledge of a short story format. The text that my short story relates to is "my graduation speech" by Tato Laviera. Normally yes, the title is always supposed to be capitalized but Tato Laviera was different. Different in a good way. In his writing he expresses himself as an individual, he didn't let anything get in his way. He made his own format. How my short story relates to Tato Laviera 's poem is his individuality, how he expresses himself. For example, Laviera doesn't use capitalization, he mixes spanish and english, and he also misspells words not because he does not know how to spell but becauses he simply just feels like it. In my short story I put a lot of detail and tried to be very specific in some parts to make the readers be as one with the main character. I tried to make the readers feel as she did, really soak in her thoughts and dreams.

Her mother died giving birth to her, her father turned into a deranged, violating wolf and to top it off she was forced to get married to an Alpha who acts more wolf than human. In this world where the strong reigns surpreme, how was a weak wolf like Starr supposed to survive? Especially with a recessive wolf that rarely interacted with her. Will her tormenting ever be over? 《Short Preview》 "You're marked by another," he stated cooly, his eyes drilling into the puncture wound that decorated my neck. Despite the calm his voice carried, my body shuddered at the pressure behind his words and the hidden dangers that laid beneath his gaze. I trembled and averted my eyes with pursed lips, trying my best to be brave. "So what? I'm a mated wolf now, which means I was never meant to be yours." His eyes narrowed in on my face as they swirled with reckless abandon. "What was made for me will forever be mine. That pup that you went and played with can't stop me from tearing that mark off your shoulder." My eyes snapped up to his in surprise as I gawked in disbelief... and a little ounce of foreboding at the man before me, "y-you can't do that!" He raised an eyebrow, "Oh? Are you gonna stop me?" I couldn't help but retort, "My mate would kill you!" His voice heightened as he finally lost his cool and snarled, "I'M YOUR MATE! There isn't a person on this earth that could kill me, let alone your bastard. You should be worried about what I'll do to HIM for forcing himself on MY WOMAN!" I flinched and took a few cautious steps backwards. Then I whispered, "who are you?" The man's lips tilted up into a ridiculing smile as he replied, "I'm the part of your soul that you chose to forsake."
