After the sudden death of their parents, red fox kits, Skyne and Zon must learn to thrive on their own. They know how dangerous the forest they are staying in is, but the nearest village is miles away. Zon is determined that they will get there, no matter how tough the journey. Skyne knows that they'll die. But soon, they find even greater problems have found them. In the west, a dangerous power is growing. One that may wipe out the entire fox civilization as they know it...and only skyne and Zon can stop it.
