Seventeen years passed, after her grandmother was found murdered gruesomely, in her own home during the year 1999. Young twenty-four year old Emily Basker her granddaughter, finally decides to let go of her old life and take ownership of the old house down in the rustic part of Italy.
Determined to figure out who murdered her still, she scavenges throughout Italy asking police for records of crimes that occurred in 1999.   But when she comes home she finds letters that her grandmother created when Emily was just a little girl out of story books, possibly leading to who might be behind all of this devastation for her family she is destined to figure what it all means.
When her grandmother was alive, she used to represent her important moments in life, to letters of people she made up in stories. She would make the envelopes with the character's name written on it in ink, in different fonts to categorize the character.
But when the fictional characters letters are suddenly making their appearance just after five months of her living in the house, appearing on her pillow case, in her bathroom and kitchen and on the veranda with dates and locations on a piece of parchment in the envelope's, she can't help but to suspect this has to do with the murder of her grandmother
Seeking answers to the letters, she's desperate to finds other relatives in Italy and other parts of Europe to help  her find out what's going on with the letters and where to start with them. When finally, it ends with the truth. It's not the prettiest. A truth that will tear the family apart, a truth that will force questions, to be answered. A truth that no one wants to uncover, but a reality that needs to be told.
